Matrix accreditation

The Matrix Standard is widely recognised by the CDI (Career Development
Institute), DfE (Department for Education), Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) and many other key organisations as the highest award in this field. It is also a clear
demonstration of high quality service delivery and commitment to making a real
difference with clients. Partners and clients seeking to work with an external organisation should ideally work with a Matrix accredited organisation.

The Matrix Standard is the unique quality framework for organisations to assess and measure their information, advice and/or guidance services, which ultimately supports
individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals. For more

Gatsby Framework

n 2014, Lord Sainsbury’s Gatsby Charitable Foundation published a report by Professor Sir John Holman, Adviser in Education at the Gatsby Foundation, titled “Good Career Guidance.” The report identified eight benchmarks that are the core of good careers and enterprise provision in schools. These benchmarks were tested over a two-year period in a pilot with 16 schools and colleges in the north east of England with very successful results. In January 2023 the latest government guidance on careers in schools was published. At the centre of this careers strategy the Gatsby framework remains. It is very clear that all schools are asked to adopt the framework in order to achieve outstanding careers provision at their institutions. Schools have a statutory duty to provide impartial careers guidance to pupils in years 7 to 13. Beacon East can help schools meet statutory requirements and the Gatsby benchmarks.
