Careers Inspiration

Our Background

The government has given the National Careers Service (NCS) a lead role in inspiring and raising the aspirations of job seekers. The ‘Careers Inspiration’ project is an invaluable element to this role. Careers Inspiration aims to forge effective links with business & industry and develop the employability skills of those seeking work or training. Since 2016, Beacon East has been contracted by Futures Advice, Skills & Employment to deliver the Careers Inspiration project for schools and across Norfolk & Suffolk (New Anglia LEP area).

background

Our service

The NCS (National Careers Service) ‘Careers Inspiration’ programme in schools & colleges is helping better equip them to inspire pupils to think differently, and more ambitiously, about their future careers. A key remit is to broker relationships with schools, colleges, local communities and employers to help young people benefit from first-hand experience of work and the opportunities available in the local labour market. This model has been well received by schools and pupils alike. Since April 2017 this has also included more business & industry linked CPD programmes for teachers and key influencers supporting both curriculum and careers provision in schools.
